M2 is the basic steel type in high speed steel, and it is also the largest variety, specifications and quantity used in high-speed steel tools, accounting for more than 70% of the total consumption of high speed steel. The quenching temperature is 1190-1230℃, and hardness HRC 64-66. It is the main material for making drill bits, wire cones, vertical milling cutter, hob, gear knife, pull cutter and other tools. It is also used to manufacture cold working molds, precision stamping molds and rollers and high temperature bearing.
